Why is this important?
- Many fundraising efforts focus on in their 50's older, who have often reached a resource accumulation stage. This report reminds us that focus overlooks important connection opportunities.
- Feelings on nonprofit(s) nearest and dearest to a donor's heart are often developed during a person's 20's and 30's
- Although average amounts given by this age group are smaller than donations by adults who are older, these donors are starting what could be a lifelong habit of giving. The potential lifetime value of a donor to a nonprofit is massive.
- These donors often give online. Have you added a Donate Now button to your website?
- This electronically connected age group offer significant possibilities for referrals to other volunteers and donors.
- When volunteers see the good work of a nonprofit firsthand, they are more likely to be donors, too. This can and should mean inviting more young adults to serve on nonprofit boards of directors.
