National Philanthropy Day ®

This Thursday, November 15 is National Philanthropy Day®. It was first proclaimed by President Ronald Reagan in 1986.

The event celebrates how giving in all its forms moves life forward. For some great visuals and the original song composed to celebrate this event, watch this YouTube video. How appropriate that this national celebration precedes  the U.S. Thanksgiving next week.

In an era where some nonprofits are being brought before Congressional committees who are questioning their fundraising expenses and more, it's also appropriate to talk about giving with a wise heart.
