Fanning the Flames for 2013

In just a few short days, celebrations around the world will ring in 2013. A new year's celebration is a nice time to fan the flames of life for the coming year. 

To fan the flames of the critical work you do for your favorite nonprofit(s) in 2013, consider the following (memories can be from any time):

• Recall at least one particularly meaningful volunteer experience for you and your family. What was it? Why was it meaningful?
• Recall at least one particularly meaningful giving experience when you gave a gift to a nonprofit and felt that the gift was appreciated and used as intended. What made you feel appreciated?
• Recall at least one story someone else has shared with you about a meaningful giving experience for them, whether it was time, talent or treasure. What made the experience memorable for them?
• How can you take the lessons of what made those experiences memorable and apply them to your work for your favorite nonprofit(s) in 2013?

Building on positive, meaningful experiences is a tremendous way to fan the flames of your great mission work and emerge with an every stronger flame to save and change lives in the time ahead. Thanks for all you do!
